About me

A therapist who knows the pace from the inside.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent seven years at Boston Consulting Group. Below is how I came to this work, what sessions are actually like, and where I trained.

How I came to this work

Before becoming a therapist, I spent seven years at Boston Consulting Group, moving from summer intern to project leader. I was good at it. I also watched capable people—including myself—treat exhaustion as a scheduling problem.

What kept pulling at me was the part of the work no strategy deck addressed: what people carried, what they could not say, and how much of it went unexamined. I went back for a Master of Social Work at New York University, and the questions I had been asking quietly became the work itself.

I mention the consulting years for one reason. If your life runs at that pitch, you will not have to translate it for me.

In the room

What it is like to work together

My style is warm, engaged, and gently challenging.

I talk back

You will not get a silent nod for fifty minutes. I react, I ask questions, and I tell you what I am noticing.

I will agree with you and still push

Feeling understood matters. So does having someone ask the question you have been walking around for a year.

You set the speed

We go toward the difficult things when you are ready for them, not on a schedule.

We check whether it is working

Every so often I will ask you directly whether this is helping. If it is not, we change what we are doing.

The whole context

Identity, culture, and context

Who you are and where you come from belong in the room. Culture, family expectations, race and mixed identity, immigration and generational history, gender, sexuality, faith, body, and money are not background information.

I work with Hispanic and Latino clients and with people of mixed backgrounds, and my practice is LGBTQ+ affirming. Sessions are available in English and Spanish.

Education & credentials

Training in service of the relationship.

Training matters, and it is not the reason therapy works. It is here so you can check it and move on to the part that does—whether the two of us can work well together.

A first step

A short conversation can help us see if it feels like a fit.

Fifteen minutes, no cost, no obligation. We talk about what brings you here and whether working together makes sense—and if someone else would be the better fit, I will say so.
